HOLD THE PHONES! [Life Update]

Hey everyone!

Okay. So. I know you all probably hate me now because it's been HOW long since I've made a post on here of ANYthing at this point? Yeah, I know, I know! I just got so so so busy all of a sudden with my every day life and I couldn't keep up with everything all at once and I had to pick something that took a lot of time and cut it out of the my daily schedule. It really sucked having to pick, but school, being involved at school, and working 2 jobs took up my first three priorities.

BUT! I'm ready to (hopefully) get back into the swing of things on here now that I have a little more time to devote to it. I am going to be taking 12 hours of class this summer (making me a full time student; basically an entire semester in 10 weeks) and I will be working two jobs again this summer, along with trying to keep my social life this summer [read: working on my tan and my pool game]. I do want to allocate more time to make this something that I'm proud of, but it's going to be hard. I'm currently back in my hometown for a few weeks to celebrate my 21st birthday with my friends and family here before I head back to campus to start my long summer of classes & sun.

Something that I really want to aim for is being able to be consistent. If it means that I can only post once a week, I want to set a schedule for myself to be able to stick to that commitment. If it means that I can only post every other Wednesday, then I hope that you guys can bear with me. I just don't want to be putting up posts just for the sake of putting them up because I haven't in a while. I want to put up posts that I am proud of for you all to see.

I hope you guys really understand because I'm getting really excited about getting back into the swing of things! and I hope that you all are too!!

What are you guys excited to see on my blog? What kind of posts do you WANT to see? Let me know!!

See ya!

Update: My Life.

Hey everyone!!

I know I tend to post more on the beauty side of things on this blog, but I just wanted to take a post to update you guys on my life and why things always seem so sporadic on this blog! Okay, so I take this blog extremely seriously and I try so hard to make sure I keep it updated and that the posts are quality posts! I've had a hard time finding time to really put good work into it now that school and work have picked back up in the last few weeks. I'm currently taking 14 hours, but 1 of my courses is a business simulation group project with four other students, so it takes up A LOT of time. I also work two jobs, one in retail and one on campus, so it keeps me really busy in between those jobs, studying, as well as staying involved with my organizations.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, I love everyone of my readers and I just don't want you guys to give up on me because I've been slacking. I know I always says I'm going to get on a schedule for posting, but this time I'm seriously going to make a huge effort to do this. I want to keep this blog quality and I want to keep my readers happy because I do this for you guys, not for me! As much as I love blogging, I don't do it for any compensation, just out of love.

So. Just stick with me. It's going to get better soon. Until then, here is a picstich from an event that I was at with some of my organizations that I'm apart of on campus!

See ya!

Healthy Grocery Food Haul!

Hey everyone!!

I know how cliche this is probably going to sound, but I've been trying to eat healthier in the new year, but it's really hard when you're a college student on a budget since "healthy food" generally translate into "expensive food." Most healthier foods tend to be produce which, depending on where you get it from, can be pricier. I recently went to one of my local Kroger grocery stores and only bought healthy foods for my groceries of the week (I tend to have to go at least once a week to the store because I'm home a lot because of the way my classes are set up this semester).

Here is an overview of everything I got! I got a lot of fruits because those are my favorite types of food to eat! I also picked up some tea because I've been really into drinking tea lately because I'm trying to stay away from caffeine as much as possible (which helps that I don't drink soda!) I did get some juice for toddlers because they have so much less sugar in them and taste fine.

I picked up two things I wanted to really enjoy because everyone talks about how great they are for you, but I just couldn't bring myself to like them. And that would be the greek yogurt and the almond milk. I just couldn't enjoy them and it made me sad because I really wanted to since they are better for you than regular milk & yogurt! (I don't like regular yogurt either though!)

I also picked up some boneless, skinless chicken breasts which I portioned in to some plastic bags before I put some in the freezer and some in the fridge for the week's meals. It's really hard to find recipes for 1 person, but I'm doing the best that I can!

I did bag all of my fruits as well so that I could just throw them into my lunch box and head to class. I like to eat these for breakfast, or as a snack on the go, in the mornings so it makes it so much easier when I've already done all of the steps of preparing them ahead of time. On the left are bags full of a mix of blackberries & raspberries, while in the center is just strawberries (my favorite!!), and the right has bags of grapes (my second favorite fruit!!).

What kind of groceries do you guys tend to buy? Anything I need to try if I'm trying to eat on a healthy diet? Let me know!!

See ya!

REVIEW/SWATCHES: Smashbox Full Exposure Palette!

Hey everyone!

I'm back with a review of a makeup palette! Okay, let me start off with the disclaimer than I have never tried any Smashbox products before I bought this palette from Ulta a few weeks ago, but I've been seeing so many people talk about it that I knew I had to just run out and pick it up for myself! So, let's get started!!

The packaging for this palette is absolutely gorgeous! I love the matte black finish with the color-changing words when the light hits it. It makes it look super fancy and pretty. This palette comes with a deluxe sample of the Full Exposure Mascara, a double ended brush for mattes/shimmers, and 14 eyeshadows, half matte, half shimmer. The brush is extremely soft to the touch; though, I haven't tried it out because I have other brushes that I use, so I don't know if the claims for either end  (matte or shimmer) really work that well.

As you can see, the brush fits nicely inside of the palette for easy storage. The top row is shimmers, ranging in colors from light to dark, as well as the bottom row of mattes from generally lighter to dark. The way the palette is set up, it seems as though the shimmer above the matte in the bottom row would complement each other nicely if you were to layer the shades! It also has a generous mirror. This palette is another nude palette that any girl who loves nudes would surely enjoy!

Here are the swatches of the eyeshadows! Click on the pictures for more of a close up look! The left picture is shimmers and the right is mattes! I really loved how butter and smooth the shadows went on, but I wasn't extremely impressed with the pigmentation, in comparison to the other high end palettes that I own.

Overall, I do like this palette but I don't see myself ever reaching for it since I bought it on a whim and have been loving my Naked palettes so much more. With that being said, I am actually going to be gifting this one to a friend of mine in a beauty care package that I'm putting together for her with some of my holy grail beauty products.

Are you guys excited to buy this palette? Have you already bought it? Any palettes I need to look into?
Let me know!!

See ya!

Bath & Body Works Haul!

Hey everyone!!

So, I know I just did a haul post of drugstore makeup, but I also went shopping for the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale and did a tiny bit of damage!! I don't know what it is about this store, but I hardly ever go in without buying something (...or a few somethings!) So, let's get started!

I picked up four of the 2 pack wallflowers for $6 each! The scents I got are Gelato & Bellini Cafe, which are from the Italian collection that they had last summer! And the last 2 I picked up are Leaves, my all time favorite scent from Bath & Body Works. I look forward to it every year and I own it in basically everything they offer it!

I picked up two single wallflowers (as well as an extra wallflower plug for $5.50, which is normal price) for $2.50 each and I got Snow Day and Cranberry Pear Bellini, which I have both of in candle form! Next, I picked up three of the foaming soaps from the Italian collection as well for $3 each! I got Sicilian Lemon, Mandarin Blossom, and Tuscan Vineyard. I got them to use in my guest bathroom, as well as in the kitchen!

This might possibly be my favorite purchase in a while for only $9!! This candle smells EXACTLY like coffee and it's the perfect blend and not too strong. It's one of my favorite random scents. My friend Michael was with me when I purchased this and I made him smell it and he loved it too! It's great!

Did you guys buy anything from the sale? I think it may still be going on, but hurry before it's over & your favorite scents sell out!

See ya!

DRUGSTORE: Haul! (Walmart/Walgreens!)

Hey everyone!!

So, I'm back at school now and loving every minute of it! Classes started yesterday so I'm going to try to get into a posting schedule soon, but between 14 credit hours, my business fraternity, and two jobs, I'm not sure how much time I'll be able to dedicate to Dealing With Jennifer BUT I'm going to try my hardest because I absolutely love making posts!

Today, I have a collective drugstore all for you guys! It's not very big but I got a few holy grail items, as well as a few new things to try out! So, let's get started!

First up: Walmart! I originally went to get a few school supplies and few other things, so I naturally decided to browse the beauty section. And what I came out with was three of my holy grail drugstore mascaras and some other things!

Across the top row from left to right: Simple Eye Makeup Remover pads, Olay Fresh Effects S'Wipe Out refreshing makeup removal cloths, and the Simple Soothing Facial Toner. I've never tried any of these products, but I figured I'd give them a whirl and hopefully find some new holy grail products!

Across the bottom row from left to right: Covergirl's Clump Crusher in the blackest shade, Revlon's Lash Potion in the blackest shade, Maybelline's The Rocket in Blackest Black, and Wet n Wild's Pearlescent Pink blush! I've used all three of these mascaras and have fallen in love; I'm just repurchasing them since my other ones are getting old! I've never tried this blush before, but everyone on YouTube raves about it so I figured it was time to pick it up, since it's only about $2.99 at the drugstore!

Next up: Walgreen's! I went looking for the Simple Makeup Remover wipes because I was out and needed to repurchase, and when Walmart didn't have them, I had to go find them and Walgreen's was on my way home! So naturally, I looked at other products too!

I picked up my favorite makeup remover wipes, as well as the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer because it was on clearance for whatever reason and I got it for 50% off of $14! Then I picked up two Jordana Twist & Shine lip balms and three of the Rimmel Show-off lip lacquers! I've never tried any of these lip products, but I'm a huge fan of the jumbo gloss balm sticks that everyone has been coming out with, and the Jordana ones are way more affordable than the others!

Here are swatches of the Jordana gloss balms! They're both pinky shades with fruity smells, but the shade on the right is darker! The colors from left to right are Tropical Frenzy and Cranberry Crush. I really love the way that Cranberry Crush looks on my lips!

I was not a fan of the way these Show-off lacquers swatched and when I went to put them on my lips, I didn't like the way that they felt, or looked. It might just be me, but I'm not a fan! Colors from left to right: Stellar, Aurora, and Big Bang.

What are you guys loving from the drugstore lately? Any good finds?
Let me know what I should pick up next!!

See ya!
xoxo Jennifer

Winter Nails!

Hey everyone!

My last post was my #NOTD for how I did my nails for Christmas, so I figured I'd make a post about which polishes I tend to gravitate more towards this winter season!

From left to right: In the Cable-Car Pool Lane (San Fransisco Collection), Don't Pretzel My Buttons (Germany Collection), All I want For Christmas is OPI & My Favorite Ornament (both from the Mariah Carey 2013 Holiday Collection)

I love wearing all of these colors during the winter because they're stand out colors to me. While I have a ton of red polishes, this was stands out the most to me. The glitter polish is gorgeous as a full manicure, as well as an accent color so it's very versatile. The neutral tan polish is the PERFECT nude color to wear. And finally, the plum/berry color is outstanding and I always get compliments when I wear it (Fun Fact: I just gifted a bottle of this to my best friend's mom and she LOVED it!)

What colors are you guys wearing this winter? Let me know!

See ya!
