It's a Later Date!

Hey Everyone!

So I'm finally about to talk about all of those weird meetings I was having the last couple of weeks and I couldn't be any more excited to have said Yes to this organization!!

I have officially been given a bid to join one of the business professional fraternities on my campus, Delta Sigma Pi. My best friend in college and I are doing this together and we are super excited. Our pinning ceremony is tomorrow and we can't wait to see where this organization takes us.

If you google Delta Sigma Pi, you can learn all about the history and how it all works, but basically now that we've been given bids, we are going to have our pinning ceremony and then start the pledging process which is a few weeks long and will consist of working together with my pledge class on a bunch of different things.

Anyways, if you are a Deltasig, let me know! I'd love to talk to you more about it!

Day of Shopping!

Hey Everyone!!

So, today I went out to get an outfit for an interview that I have on Tuesday (crossing my fingers the results of that interview are good!!) and I came across the Ulta in my town that I didn't know we had! Well, this was the first time that I had ever been to an Ulta so I browsed the store, but I ended up passing on a ton of things to justify only buying one thing.

Yup, I caved and purchased the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (I also bought a Maybelline color tattoo!). And I am seriously in love! I saw it when I first walked in and I knew that I had to buy it. It retails for $27, which is kind of expensive for me to spend on eye shadow. (Other than the fact that I want the Lorac Pro palette, which retails for $42!) In this picture, I am not wearing an eye look done with the palette, but I did later on play with it and I fell in love. I can't wait to use this palette basically every day!

What's your favorite palette? Which should I buy next?!

See ya!

Snow Day #2!

Hey everyone!

This is such an exciting post for me because today is ANOTHER snow day at my university! Which is so off the wall that I can't even really contain my excitement! We never get out of class for anything so to not have had classes today or last Friday is a huge shock to everyone!!

I haven't blogged a lot in the last week (or at all I don't think... haha.) but it's been because I've been SUPER busy! With MLK, all I did was homework. Homework homework homework! I was trying to stay ahead of the game in a few classes! Then on Tuesday I had class all day from 9:40-6:30, with a few breaks inbetween them, but then immediately after that I had a meeting to go to! On Wednesday, I had class until 2:15 and then did homework until another meeting for a different organization started at 5:45 until 8! and then I went to Wednesday night College church service with a friend from 8:45 until around 10:30ish. Whew!

But wait! My week still didn't slow down after that! I had classes again all day yesterday and ANOTHER meeting at 7. It was more of a social event because we had pizza and bowled for an hour or so! I'll be able to talk more about what these meetings were for at a later date!

I didn't realize how busy I actually was this week until I saw it all down on paper (well... blog post!) but I am so glad to have today to just sit around and have an American Pie marathon by myself. I am so excited.

What do you guys like to do on Snow Days when there isn't any snow on the ground?

See ya!

College Life.

Hey everyone!!

So, recently on twitter/facebook/tumblr, I have been seeing a lot of my old friends/current friends posting about how drunk they're getting. I can't help but notice that only 1 of them is 21 and all of the others are either 18 or 19. I always wonder what their parents would say if they knew, except, I know what most of their parents would say because I've met them all before.

It's just hard to see them digging themselves into a big hole when they're looking for a job later on in life that will analyze their online activity. I'm not saying that since they're not 21, they can't have a beer or two (even though they shouldn't since it's illegal) but it's college. Things happen and we hear about it all the time when we're en route from class to class. But don't be stupid and post about it online. Seeing tweets that say "imm sooo druuuusbdsbdnk!!!!!!!" is not you posting in the right mindset.

Just keep that in mind for when you THINK you should post a status about how many shots you just took or how many rounds of beer pong you've won. What's your idea on underage drinking in college?

Snow Day! and 2012 Favorites!!

Hey Everyone!!

So my university cancelled night classes yesterday for inclement weather [read: 2 inches of rain that frozen under 3 inches of snow which is unusual for where I go to school] (which means I didn't have to go to my 5:05pm class!) and then they delayed opening until 10am this morning (which means my 9:05am class got cancelled!). Then my only other class today got cancelled as well, so it's a snow day for me which is perfect because it's already a three-day weekend!

I thought I would go ahead and take this free time that I finally have this week to do a post about some 2012 favorites! I might come back in and add pictures, but for now, I'm just going to name them and then describe/short review them! Here we go!

FOOD!
  • Rafferty's Ole Boy fries: HANDS DOWN THE BEST. I could eat this as a meal and as a matter of fact, when I go to Rafferty's, I do!
  • Starbucks' Caramel Brulee Latte: This is my all time favorite cold weather drink. I wish they had it all year instead of just as a holiday flavor!
  • Grilled cheese sandwiches: I'm actually super obsessed with them because it's one of the only things I know how to cook without messing up here at school. So I like to make them because they're easy, cheap, and delicious! I also like to pair them with tomato soup or Spaghettio's!
  • Chickfila's Caesar Wraps: My best friend and I love to eat them because she works there. They're the perfect mix of chicken, lettuce, cheese, and caesar dressing. We haven't been able to quite recreate them though and apparently they're getting rid of them soon! SAD DAY!

BEAUTY!
  • The Body Shop Mango Body Scrub and Butter: These seriously smell so good! I have really dry skin in certain areas of my body so I like to use the scrub while I'm in the shower once or twice a week and then moisturize with the body butter! Highly recommend!
  • Suave Sunripened Strawberry Shampoo & Conditioner: Since I try back and forth between home and school very little this school year, I needed something cheap to keep at home so that I wouldn't have to keep lugging it back and forth. I ended up picking this and while it was only $3 for both, it was a smart buy! I love them and it really lathers up great!
  • Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle: This is seriously a holy grail conditioner for me. I like to use this after I've used the Mane n' Tail shampoo because that leaves my hair really knotty. It's absolutely perfect and my only regret is not having found it sooner!
  • Victoria's Secret "Incredible" perfume: This is my absolute absolute favorite perfume. It smells so fresh, clean, but still girly and feminine! I get the small bottles because they fit in my backpack perfectly and I can just pull it out and give myself a little spritz!

FASHION!
  • American Eagle Midi shorts: I literally wore these every day over the summer and into the fall. They are the perfect length and so comfortable and stretchy. I can't wait to buy more!
  • Leggings: I wear leggings every day basically. They're so comfortable and I can pair them with some boots and a tshirt and they're perfect for going to class.
  • Nike Running Shorts: I love love love to wear these to sleep or to just go to class during the late spring/early fall. They're versatile, but I wear them mostly for comfort/style.
  • Northface: My jacket keeps me so warm and I always need it when I'm walking to class or going to work or anything!

RANDOM!
  • Nissan Altima 2.5s (Red): I just got a new car for my birthday and I'm in love with it. It's longer than my old car but it's so much nicer and better. I would tell people to buy this!
  • iPhone 5: I've been an avid iPhone user since they were released in 2007 [read: I got one of the first 10 sold in my city!] so when they released the 5 a little before my 2 1/2 year mark with my broken 4, I knew I had to get it! and I'm in love! It's so weird seeing older iPhones now compared to this one because it is amazing.
  • Peyton Manning!: I got to meet/sort of talk to Peyton Manning when he was on campus for something that was being dedicated to him earlier last semester. It was a great opportunity and I'm glad I got to do that.
  • CEO Nationals: This is going to have it's own blog post sooner or later, but I wanted to make sure I mentioned it here because I absolutely loved this experience and it's a definite favorite of 2012 for me!

Wow! That was like reliving 2012 a little for me! Awesome! That's all for now though!
What were some of your favorite things from 2012? I want to know!

See ya!

New School Year, Old Habits.

Well, as I'm typing this blog, I am waiting for my nails to dry instead of doing the homework I need to have done by tomorrow morning. This is just like last semester and the year before that. So I know I need to change my habits because otherwise, I'm going to not pass my classes... again. haha.

I had an interesting week last week though! I started classes, which all seem to be really hard. For one of my classes, I needed to be able to run Windows on my Mac and I went to our tech store to buy the software and turns out, they sold me the wrong one! Well, I couldn't figure out how to do it on my own, so I actually ended up driving home Friday afternoon so that my dad could do it for me because he is very technology savvy, which I didn't inherit.

I had a great weekend regardless! I attended a baby shower for a friend and I hung out with my best friend so that is always great. I just wanted to quickly blog since I haven't in a while. Be on the lookout for some reviews for food/beauty products as well as a book review!!

Let me know: Are you in school? How are your classes?

See ya!

Nail of the Day!

Hey Everyone!

So I think this might be my first Nail of the Day (NOTD) post and I'm hoping to get more into these as the days pass because I love to look at them myself! These are my "back to class" nails for the Spring 2013 semester!!

I started with Essie's 'Butler Please' polish from the Holiday 2012 collection. Before I bought the polish I did some research about it to see what everyone else was saying about it. Everything people are saying about the formulation being off is correct! It's not the normal Essie polish in the way that it streaks and isn't even coating. After I worked with it for a bit, it turned out great! As an accent nail, I used Maybelline's Color Show Metallics polish in 'Bold Gold.' It was the perfect color to offset the deep cobalt blue of the other nails. It dried quickly and is gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoy Maybelline polishes for their formulations as well.

I hope you all had a great day! I know I did!

Leave me a comment below answering: What's your favorite nail polish brand/color?

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty!

Well, I don't normally do tags like this, but I thought this one was really interesting! I'm not much of a beauty guru, but I'm starting to really enjoy that aspect of life!

1. GREED - What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive? My least expensive beauty item would probably have to be my Victoria's Secret eyeliner that I am obsessed with. And my most expensive is probably my Essie & OPI nail polishes!

2. WRATH - What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? I have a love/hate relationship with my nail polishes because while the colors are gorgeous, sometimes the formulation is off and I have to work harder with it.

3. GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty products? Well, I would have to say my Burts Bees lip balms! They don't taste terribly, so I'll give them a thumbs up!

4. SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness? Probably mascara. I don't want to have to deal with it and get my lashes perfectly.

5. PRIDE - What beauty product gives you the most self confidence? Probably my Tresemme Curl Defining spray gel. I love it and it makes my hair so absolutely curly and I love it.

6. LUST - What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex? Good hair, good clothes, nice teeth!

7. ENVY - What items would you most like to receive as a gift? The Urban Decay Naked or Naked 2 OR Naked Basics paletes. As well as more Ani & Alex bracelets!

And that's it for this tag! If you do this tag as well, leave me a comment with your answers!

See ya!

This is going to be mainly pictures with some explanation of what is in the picture. Happy New Year!

Well, it's a few days into the new year and I am loving it! I got to spend time with a cousin I haven't seen in a few years who just had her first baby! It was a really great time and I loved it!

Here are some pictures from the trip!

My dad and I on our second day of travels!

Driving through Virginia!

Tappan Zee Bridge!
Playing with my cousin's dog, Bodie!

I played with him a lot this week... haha.

Hanging out, ya know how it is.

We didn't really take a lot of pictures or do a lot of shopping, but I did end up getting the watch I've been lusting over for a few weeks now as a late Christmas gift from my aunt! And I was able to get a belated gift for one of my best college friends and I will be ordering mine shortly because they didn't have it in any of the 6 (you heard me right, SIX) stores that we went to to find it! Pictures of those coming shortly!

I'm off to be with my dad for the day! Which is funny since we just spent over 25 hours in a car together, days with family together, nights in hotels together, and then a day of plane traveling together and we can't get enough of each other! I love my dad so much!

So much excitement! Post soon!

See ya!
