HAUL: Sephora!

Hey everyone!!

I'm basically the last 20 year old girl to FINALLY buy something from Sephora. I have gone in the store several times but I never found anything within my price range that I really felt like I needed. Well, the other day while I was in the big city near me, I strolled into Sephora to see if I wanted to get anything. I browsed the Benefit section for a while but walked away with nothing. I browsed the Urban Decay, Stila, and Nars sections for a while, but, again, walked away with nothing. I made my way to the back of the store and decided to look at the Soap & Glory products since they're so hyped up on youtube by all of the beauty gurus.

Hold the phones. I actually picked a product up and was heading towards the check out with it. Shocking!!

On my way there, I also picked up two more things, 1 from the section where they keep their brushes and one from the bins in the check out line (that's how they get you! good marketing on their part!)

Here's what I got! (very few items, and small items at that.)

The first thing I actually picked up to buy is the Soap & Glory "Clean on Me" shower gel that everyone raves so much about on youtube. I got the trial size for $5, which is a little more than 3 fluid ounces. It's a little too big for traveling on an airplane, but I think I'm going to keep it for when I move into my new apartment in a little over 2 weeks from now! It'll be nice to have before I really start to unpack my bathroom!

While in the check out line, I was looking at all of the bins to see if there was anything I may want to pick up and try out. Well, I picked up the travel size bottle of the Philosophy Purity 1-step daily facial wash! It foams up really nicely and has a tolerable scent. A downside would be that for the 3 fluid ounce bottle, it was $10! The upside to that problem is that it doesn't take a lot to to clean your face thoroughly.

I picked up a manual exfoliating brush for the face because I've been wanting to get a Clarisonic Mia, but after reading some reviews that talked about how it wasn't especially great, I figured why not try a manual one first anyways, to see if I would even use it. It was $6, which is great compared to the $100+ for the Clarisonic Mia! I really enjoy using the brush with Purity face wash! I may have found my holy grail items for face exfoliating!!

Overall, I'm really happy with my purchases from my first shopping experience in Sephora! I love everything I got and I can't wait to go back! Even though people think it's not as great as Ulta, I believe that they're just different stores. Sephora has a lot of exclusives from different brands, like I saw some Benefit sample-like boxes that had a cheek/lip tint (benetint, cha cha tint) or a liquid highlighter (sun beam, high beam) and a blush/bronzer in them for $30, but they're Sephora exclusive packaging! So there's always that. I do love both stores though, but Ulta is more convient for me now that we have one in my hometown and that there is one in the town where I go to school!!

What are your favorite things to buy from Sephora?!

See ya!

What's in My Shower Routine?

Hey everyone!!

I know I haven't blogged in a while, but I've been super busy with my last summer class for the semester and hanging out with friends before I head back to school in about 21 days for the fall semester! I thought I would come back strong with a post about the products I'm currently using in my every shower routine!!

I'll start with what I use when I wash my hair, because that tends to be the first thing that I do when I'm in the shower!

Currently I have been LOVING the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition fortifying shampoo and the 3-minute undo dryness reversal treatment. It smells so great and it makes my hair feel soft and moisturized after I use it! However, since it is a fortifying shampoo, I don't use it every day because it's meant to be used as a way to clear out product buildup! When I'm not using the Garnier products, I use the Suave Moroccan Infusion shampoo & deep shine conditioning mask. They also have a very pleasant scent and make my hair feel great!

When I want a more luxurious feel from my body wash, I use either the Bath & Body Works "Cashmere Glow" because I absolutely love the scent of it (I use the triple body moisture cream in the same scent!!) or the Victoria's Secret "Pure Seduction" because the floral scents are dead on for feeling luxurious! I honestly only picked it up because of Elle, also known as AllthatGlitters21 on Youtube, raved about how much she loved the scent of it and it was an all time favorite for her! I completely agree!! For my more every day body wash, I gravitate towards the Olay 2 in 1 Essential Oils Ribbons in Sunflower and Nectarine! It lathers really nicely and it leaves my skin feeling completely soft. I use this on my legs when I'm shaving if I don't use a shave gel because I love how moisturizing it is on my legs!

When I wash my face in the shower, I try to keep it pretty classic and stick to a cult favorite, which would be Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Wash in Pink Grapefruit Scrub. It does the job and I think it makes my skin feel clean. I've lately been using the Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine GoAway! wash because of Ingrid, or MissGlamorazzi on YouTube. I have really shiny skin, but when I use this wash, it's not as shiny at the end of the day! Some of the items in my shower that I don't always use are pictured on the left, like the ever so popular Macadamia Deep Repair hair mask which I do love, a sugar body scrub in Mango from The Body Shop and a few other things like a feminine wash & my current shave gel.

I have found that all of these products have made for a nice and clean shower and I always feel like I smell so great too, because a few of the scents do linger on your skin for a portion of the day, which I really enjoy. I didn't take a picture of the razor I'm currently using, but it's the Venus Spa Breeze one, or whatever it's called; it's a razor and works so there's that.

I hope you all enjoyed this post!! I'm trying to catch up on my posting and get on a posting schedule, but I think I've finally figured out when I want to post. Probably like 2 times a week, a weekend date and a week day date! Let me know if that's a good idea or not, because I do these posts for the readers and I love to do them!

See ya!!

SPOTTED/HAUL: Wet N Wild MegaLast Polishes!

Hey everyone!

I was on twitter yesterday and saw that Leigh Ann, or leighannsays on Youtube, posted a picture about the Dollar General Wet N Wild exclusive polishes that she purchased! So, of course I had to go to my local DG because my summer course and check out the colors. So, naturally, I had to buy 11 of them. Because that's what nail polish addicts do.

Here's a picture of the small damage that I did earlier before my class!

I can work on doing swatches if that's something you guys are interested in, but I can't wait to use these polishes! They look so fun and I love the formulation of the MegaLast polishes!!

Let me know if you go out and get some! :)

See ya!

Every Day Eye Makeup Routine!

Hey everyone!!

I don't wear makeup every day, or every other day, it's sort of sporadic for me. If I'm going out with friends, I probably will, and if I'm at school and going to a meeting or something, I probably will. When I'm just going to my summer class, I won't because it's useless to spend the time doing it for 10 people to see. Since I don't do videos, I thought I'd just post pictures and talk about the products that I use when I decide to actually wear eye makeup!

Here we go!

This is an overview of some of the things in my every day makeup bag. It's one of the bags that I got when I was still subscribed to Ipsy a few months ago! (Ipsy is a monthly $10 subscription that comes in a makeup bag with 4-5 deluxe samples or full-size products tailored to your needs!) It's just plain navy blue on the outside with the lighter blue interior with the white stars. It's bigger than most of the other bags that have been sent since October, so it's perfect to hold everything I need!

So, not pictured is my eye primer, but I do use one before I start. I just forgot to take a picture of it. Then, if I'm going for a more dramatic metallic/shimmery eye, I'll start by applying either of these colors as a base for my shadows. These are some of the best cream eyeshadows that I have every tried! Sometimes I'll swipe some on my eyelids and call it a day. They're THAT pigmented and they don't crease on me! (Retail: $5.94 at Walmart & Target)

After I decide if I'm going to use the cream shadows or not, I move onto regular every day eye shadow. If I'm wearing eye shadow, I can almost guarantee that I have at least one of the colors from the highly-praised Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. It's so highly pigmented and creamy and natural that it makes for great every day use. I will also usually grab for my Wet n Wild "Walking on Eggshells" trio for the all over lid color. Or I will reach for my (not pictured) Stila "Not So Nude" palette, which you can check out here!! (Retail: Urban Decay Naked Basics- $27 at Ulta or Sephora, Wet n wild "Walking on Eggshells"- $2.93 at Walmart)

Next, I tend to line my waterline and my tightline with a white retractable liner from NYX, then I go over it with either the brown NYX liner or the Jordana black liner. It usually depends on which one I grab for first from inside of the bag. Lastly, I apply two coats of mascara! I do layer my mascara and when I do, I do one coat of the Benefit's They're Real! mascara and go over it with the Covergirl Clump Crusher in the waterproof formula! It makes for a great duo! Both of these mascaras are highly hyped, but I love them both! (Retail: NYX liners- $4.49 at Ulta, Jordana liner- priced per store/ around $1!, Clump Crusher- $6.94 at Walmart, Mini Benefit They're Real!- $10 at Ulta or Sephora)

and Wah-la! Finished eye makeup look! This is my go-to makeup products for every day use! What are some of your favorite go-to products for your eye looks? Let me know!!

See ya!

I Heart Summer Tag!

Hey everyone!!

Not unlike many other avid youtube viewers in the beauty community, among my favorite videos to watch are Tag videos! Ingrid, or MissGlamorazzi, came out with 12 questions for this tag all about summer! I thought I'd give it a go since I wasn't really blogging when she released the I Heart Spring Tag a few months back! So, here we go!!

1. Favorite bronzer for summer? NYC Sunny Bronzer! I'd love to try Benefit's Hoola or the Too Faced Chocolate Solei bronzer in Milk Chocolate!

2. You're relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? (Favorite summer drink) Living in the south, I'd probably say a nice, cold glass of sweet tea.

3. Favorite summer lip product? I'm not much for a lip product person, but I'd probably say anything with SPF that isn't the Maybelline Baby Lips because I really don't like those at all!

4. Pool or Beach? Being in a landlocked state, I'd have to say pool! It's more easily accessible. Although, nothing beats summer nights down on Nantucket in Massachusetts!

5. Summer = crazy hair! What's your must-have styling product? Sea-salt spray! I love the way it enhances my natural wave to make it look super beachy.

6. Sun bathing or fake tan? I don't fake tan or sun bath! I tan just from being active outside in the sun!

7. Favorite summer nail polish? Essie "Mint Candy Apple" is my absolute favorite summer polish!

8. Any summer traditions? Not so much anymore now that I'm in college.

9. Favorite summer scent? Bath & Body Works 2013 Summer candle, Summer Boardwalk.

10. Favorite BBQ food? Cheeseburgers!

11. What's your favorite summer-proof product? Neutrogena Sun Defense water-proof sunscreen! Or the Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Lotion in the Blue/Green bottle!

12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip! We took a family trip up to Massachusetts to visit family but now I'm taking summer classes and in a little over a month, I'll be moving into my first off-campus college apartment!!

I really did love this tag! And I hope to see more people do this tag, like EleventhGorgeous, Beautybaby44, StrawberryElectric48, AllthatGlitters21, and so many more!!

What are some of your summer must-haves?!

See ya!

HAUL: Drugstore!

Hey everyone!

So the other day I stopped by my local Walmart to restock on a few things and to try a few new things as well! I end up spending way too much money when I'm in Walmart because I always feel like everything is a deal! I love it though!

These are some repurchases and they're some of my holy grail items. I did see some Neutrogena blotting sheets that I thought of picking up, but it was a little more money than these and I know these ones work. This heat protectant is my absolute favorite! It has a a great scent and I feel like it really does work. I've repurchased this so many times!

I have been looking for some sort of scrub or facial wash to help with controlling shine and I saw Ingrid, or MissGlamorazzi, mention this Olay Fresh Effects Shine Control one, so I picked it up on my shopping trip. I picked up the Suave Morraccan Oil Shampoo and deep conditioner because I'm almost out of my Suave Keratin set. I don't remember who I saw talking about the Olay Sunflower body wash was, but I smelled it and it immediately went into my basket. It smells so good for the summer time.

I picked up a few polishes from Maybelline Color Show because I've been looking for a really good affordable light pink polish for summer and everyone is raving about white manicures lately. Also from Maybelline, I picked up a new Color Tattoo Pure Pigment in "Barely Brazen" and I can't wait to try it out. While in the travel items aisle, I picked up this Ponds Nourishing cream just to try it out. On a whim while walking out of the beauty aisles, I saw a display with lip balms on it and I saw these Yes To Carrot ones! There are four of them, but I only picked up two. I also picked up my holy grail Burt's Bees though. In the checkout, I saw the Blistex one and picked it up for a friend because it's her favorite.

Whew! Such a big, but small haul! I hope to enjoy everything that I bought!! What drugstore items are you loving?!

See ya!

Influenster: SunKissed VoxBox!

Hey Everyone!!

So I was given the opportunity through Influenster to try out some items in their SunKissed Voxbox! The way the website works is that you do interactive things on their websites like reviews of products and you're active in their community. Then, if you qualify for one of their boxes based on your activity on the website, they sent you a pre-survey and if you're picked, they send you a box with 4-5 products in it to review!! It's a really great website and I heard about it through LollyDolly128, or Danna, on YouTube!

Here is the card that comes in the box! It gives you retail value and more information about them!

I was so excited to receive this box for consideration! I love basically everything in it because it's all items that I have been hesitant to pick up on my own with fear of not enjoying the items! This box came with the Dr Scholl's for High Heels insert and I can't wait to try them out because I wear heels often for my fraternity and for my other organization so I'm excited to try them out. I've also heard great things about the hair ties! I wasn't very excited about the BB cream because it's meant for just a primer with a little bit of color. Lastly, I love the way gel nails look so I'm excited to have gotten to try out this gorgeous pink color in the new GelTech shine formula from Sinful colors!

Thanks so much, Influenster for the opportunity to try out everything in this box!

Do you guys see anything you'd want to try from this box? Let me know!

See ya!

SPOTTED: Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments!

Hey everyone!

I was at Walmart getting a few things I ran out of from in my bathroom! I always stop in the beauty aisles to see if there are anything new, or if there are any markdowns! Here's what I saw!

These are the new Maybelline Color Tattoo Pigments! I picked up the shade "Barely Brazen" which I think the pigment color for the Color Tattoo in "Barely Branded" from the Metals line! They retail for a little under $6! This is the first place I have seen them, so I don't know if they have them anywhere else!

Are you going to buy any?! Let me know!!

See ya!

JenniferRants #1

Hey Everyone!!

So, I know this isn't beauty related and this weekend I am going to try to have TWO posts up! I know for sure my SunKissed VoxBox Review will be up, I'm just waiting to have some down time to take the pictures for it! and I know I'm super super super late on it, but my June Ipsy Bag will be up sometime this weekend too!!

But I wanted to do this thing where I just rant for a second about my personal life. If you're uninterested, or if this is something you don't want to see, let me know! I won't do them anymore! I just wanted a way as to include you all in my every day life because you mean so much to me!

Well, first off, I should be studying for my summer class final, but I'm typing this blog instead. There's nothing worse that I hate than taking exams because I have extreme test anxiety and it's really hard to control normally, so during finals, I just go a little crazy. Brownies for breakfast it is!

Secondly, I hate when anyone who posts NOTDs has ratchet nails. I try really hard to clean them up before I post pictures of my nails if I'm going to be doing a NOTD, but I have seen pictures where the girl hasn't cleaned them up at all and they look so bad. If you're trying to be a beauty guru/blogger, you need to try harder when it comes to simple posts like nails!

Okay, whew! I'm done with that rant for now! I just needed a place to vent!
How are you guys doing?! Leave a comment down below & we can chat!! :)

See ya!

NOTD: OPI's "I've Got The Blues For Red"

Hey everyone!!

I thought I would post this NOTD because I'm no good at nail art and I felt like the only reason I painted my nails a dark red in the middle of summer is because of the name! It made me think of how this week is the Fourth of July!

It's the perfect deep red color to me! it was pretty opaque with the first coat, but I did go ahead and apply a second coat!

Any big 4th of July plans? I'll be studying my butt off for my accounting class final on the 5th, but maybe I'll give myself a break for fireworks!! ;)

See ya!
